Joey is honoured

Somewhere over there

in the middle of the square

don’t be afraid! He calls

to the people from far.

But nothing has happened

people are laughing

and while he gets closer and

touches the ground he hears

the crowd clapping and cheering.

The mayor takes three steps

and honours him with a medal

for services rendered.

Then he clears his throat

and calls out loud,

three cheers for Joey,

the best fire truck there is!
