An elderly woman

For a long time in my life

the image I had of myself

matched with what I felt inside.

But lately it is an elderly woman

who suddenly in a reflection

looks back at me with startled eyes.

Puzzled I stare at her and wonder

before I ask myself, who

is that person whom I see,

is that really me?
