They grunt …
and say:

today?

and hide under the straw?”

But the farmer’s wife
is very smart.

they aren’t here
so I’d better
not leave any food.
It’s their business
if they’d rather

do something else
than eating.”
“No, no,” they grunt,
“we are very hungry.
Hear our stomach
tells you so.
Hmmm, we like it
very much.
