How Betsy cow learned to play a song

In summertime, when the weather
is fine, Betsy stands outside.
Where all at once, everyone
seems to be going on a ride.

People smile when walking by,
some of them hold still.
They wave and say hello
as they are walking up the hill.

Children shout out loud:
“Hello you over there
are you never tired of chewing
and not going anywhere.

Mama says, if we drink your milk,
we grow tall and strong.”
But before Betsy looks up,
they’re already gone.

In the winter, when it’s cold
she feels a little bit sad:
standing by herself
in the dusky shed.

One murky day
Betsy looked around
and saw a shiny thing.
What was it that she’d found?

A saxophone! She picked it up
and took it to her mouth
and much to her surprise
she heard a swinging sound.

Not only did she cherish it
she learned to play it, too.
Here is a little song
she wants to share with you.

̕Come and hear my simply song,
moo-moo, moohoohoo.
Come around and dance along,
moo-moo-moo
