A young deer

 

lays hidden in the grass.

Its mama says:

“Now listen good

don’t make any sound

and whatever happens

stay where you are

and don’t come out.

 

Don’t be afraid

I won’t be long

I’ll only get some food

and by now

you must know

that I’ll be back

real soon.

 

That’s all I ask of you

so please be good!”
